Acer Iconia 6120 Touchbook dual-screen tablet revealed Acer Iconia 6120 Touchbook dual-screen tablet revealed

Acer is stepping up its tablet offerings not by doubling the screen size but rather by doubling the number of displays. Say hello to the dual screen Iconia 6120 Touchbook.

Looking like a laptop with another display where the keyboard and touchpad would be, the the Iconia 6120 Touchbook sports a pair of side-by-side 14-inch HD widescreen LED-backlit LCDs made with ultra-thin and durable Gorilla Glass. There is, of course, a virtual keyboard along with a gesture editor to use pre-defined and customized gestures.

This is no Android tablet, however, but rather a machine running on Windows 7 Premium (64-bit) with a number of Acer’s own software programs. One that stands out is Clear.fi, which acts as a storage hub/organizer of sorts. It automatically detects and connects all Acer devices on a single network (i.e. smartphones, computers and storage devices), organizes the file types and can then playback the content on any of the connected devices.

Additional notable specs on the Iconia 6120 Touchbook include:

  • Intel Core i5 Processor with Intel Turbo Boost Technology
  • Intel HD graphics
  • 4GB of memory
  • 640GB SATA hard drive
  • 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi
  • Gigabit Ethernet
  • 1.3-megapixel HD webcam
  • Dolby Advanced Audio v3 technology
  • Supports Adobe Flash Player 10.1
  • Connectivity: USB 3.0, Two USB 2.0 ports, HDMI, VGA

The Touchbook certainly looks like a solid machine that would be an asset while on the go. However, it’s not exactly light at 6.18 pounds
